The Key to Adventure - FanfictionHer fur, a browny-russet, gleamed like fire in the harsh, but yet warm and comforting, sunlight, which streaked from the sea blue velvety sky, only stained by a few puffy clouds that floated aimlessly. Her gently curled hair was tugged playfully by the breeze that tickled her face, and she absently brushed away the curls from her shocking vibrant glade-green eyes. She extended an earth-brown paw to shield her gaze from the fiery sun that was reflected in her eyes.
It was nice, to just sit for once. With no worries or anxiety to plague her thoughts.
Her tail, long and beautiful, was like a drape beneath her as she stretched out on her back upon the smooth, sun-baked wood of the tree stump, whose gnarled roots sunk hungrily into the soft soil.
She dipped her delicate head backwards over the side of the aged stump and to gaze upside-down at the green world shortly below.

The first time we were both sitting in the room together, getting ready to take the math test that would determine our placement. I was scatterbrained and throwing things around, trying to find the pencils that I had known I would need but had still just tossed in my purse. He was lounging backwards in his chair, looking for all the world as though he didn’t have a single care in the world, including the upcoming test. It annoyed me, that I was frantic and ready to scream, while someone else could be that relaxed.
